WWE fans last saw Aleister Black back in October 2020. He and Kevin Owens were fighting it out in a budding feud. However, even as both Superstars were drafted to SmackDown, Black disappeared for months.
After many speculations, Black is coming back to WWE. On last night’s SmackDown (04/23/21), WWE aired a vignette of a “repackaged” Black, teasing his return and a possibly more evil character.
The vignette and the story are loosely based on Black’s childhood. WWE hinted how the promos are an insight into the dark alleys of Black’s mind and into the philosophy of “The Dragon.”

The video opened with Black sitting in a candle-lit room. With a book titled, “Tales of The Dark Father,” he started off, “Most people aren’t honest with you, so I’m going to open a vein because I want you to know the truth.”
He then gave an anecdote about how he would become “The Dragon,” not defeat it. His ‘father’ taught him everything, including how to not be a “weak-minded fool.”
“You gawking at the screen right now, you are the monsters and I am nothing like you, and I would never help you,” Aleister Black spoke directly to the audience at home. “You are the ones who reveal the true rotten nature of man, with your lies and your deceit, you transform your own children into bigger monsters than you are.”
“What you do is vile, and it should be condemned. Like rotting corpses, you should be scorched from the Earth to make room for more fertile things,” Black concluded. The promo gave off an air of Black becoming a twisted Vigilante/Messiah in the future.
Aleister Black sent out a cryptic tweet following SmackDown
Despite the quaint video, Black was not satisfied, Following SmackDown, Black tweeted out a cryptic message. The message was in line with the ominous airs of the earlier vignette.
The tweet (now pinned) said, “Let’s cut the weeds, sing our songs, and let me tell you a story riddled in sins. You will know me, you will know him. You will dance with me in the abyss.”
