After his victory over Kevin Owens at Hell in a Cell, Sami Zayn was over the moon. But his daydream soon turned into a nightmare when he got to know the conditions for his Money in the Bank qualification match.
Zayn defeated Owens after taking advantage of the latter’s throat injury and hitting a Helluva Kick. In his backstage interview with Kayla Braxton on SmackDown this week (6/25), Zayn went on about cosmic justice and said this might be the best week of his life.
Then, Kayla dropped the news of him facing Kevin Owens next week. If Zayn wanted to compete for the Money in the Bank match, he must beat Owens, despite “putting an end to him.”

“I got the justice I was looking for. You are all trying to stick it to me yet again,” Sami started ranting. “You are not messing with me now, okay? Now you are messing with the Karma, you are messing with the cosmos. Worse week of my life!”

Sami then went to Adam Pearce to seek ‘justice.’ While he was hoping for an easy way out, Pearce denied it all and made the qualifying match into a ‘last man standing man.’
Sami went off again and said Pearce was playing a very dangerous game with the karma, and walked away, leaving a very confused Pearce behind.

KO and Sami are friends from their indie days. They briefly teamed up in WWE as well. But all went south when Sami took on the gimmick of the ‘Great Liberator and then the ‘Conspiracy Theorist.’
While KO tried his best to put some sense into his former best friend but it was all in vain. After Zayn accused Owens of trying to sabotage him, the duo faced off at WrestleMania 37.
