WWE has been hit by a piece of massive bad news just a day before the 2024 Royal Rumble. The promotion’s long-time sponsor decided to pull out and won’t be advertising at the PLE. While there are many speculations on the possible reason, here is a rundown of this breaking news.

WWE might suffer a major loss

According to reports, WWE’s long-time sponsor Slim Jim has sent a notice to the company stating that they are pulling their sponsorship for the 2024 Royal Rumble. However, there is no word as to whether it is a temporary decision or a long-term action. Slim Jim has been a staple for the promotion’s Premium Live Events and was last seen during the 2023 Fastlane and Survivor Series.

This happens to be massive news as WWE announced a big partnership with the company for WrestleMania 40. In partnership with Slim Jim, WWE had started a lucky draw and the winner would get an all-expense paid trip for the Show of the Shows.

Apart from that, the winner is said to win $75,000 along with the WWE Slim Jim car that has been featured many times.  However, it is now being reported that the website is no longer accessible in the United States.

The parent company of Slim Jim, Conagra Brands, has not made any public statement about the decision. However, the relationship between the two companies is very old.

Both the companies have been working together for almost 30 years now, with Slim Jim’s collaboration stemming from an already present relationship with the then-WWF. In the early 90s, “Macho Man” Randy Savage was the cover boy for the company. Since then the two companies have been working together and Slim Jim’s latest faces currently are LA Knight and Bianca Belair. During the SummerSlam 2023, the famous Fast Meat car was unveiled which was a symbol of a truce between WWE and Slim Jim.

But unfortunately, the car had many admirers. It was reported in December 2023 that the car was stolen when it was on its way to Los Angeles for a custom photoshoot. An online campaign was started so that fans could help find the customized Nissan Z. However, good news came in soon after the car was found in the Hillside area of LA by the Los Angeles Police Department just days after it went missing.

With a “pause” between Slim Jim and WWE, it could affect several aspects of their partnership apart from advertising, including the “custom content and social media executions with Superstar talent, online sweepstakes to drive fan engagement, in-store activations” that Slim Jim had announced on renewing its partnership with the promotion in August 2023.
