We are just a few days away from WrestleMania XL and the gears are already set in motion. The promos are getting personal day by day, with stars calling out each other’s family members, which does add an interesting layer to the ongoing feud. OG WWE fans might realize that the rivalry between Cody Rhodes, Dwayne Johnson, and Roman Reigns does bear some resemblance to the Attitude Era along with a whiff of fresh air all thanks to Brian Gewritz, who has returned to the company after almost a decade. However, when his writing started receiving some hate online, he decided to demonstrate his prowess.
Brian Gewirtz claps back at trolls
After he received criticism from a troll online for the recent SmackDown promo from 03/22 featuring Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns, Gewritz made it clear he will not be taking any necessary criticism, especially from trolls. He wrote, “I’d sooner take wrestling advice from one of your many po**bot followers. They know as much about the business as you, and unlike you, they work for a living.”

Things started to gain traction when former WWE star Val Venis a.k.a The Big Valbowski decided to highlight flaws from the promo of the latest episode. He wrote that the segment “lacked anything resembling ‘entertainment.” Venis also wrote in his tweet that he now feels sorry for both Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns for engaging in such lackluster promos.
After Venis’ tweet started going viral, an account on X (formerly Twitter) which posts things about pro wrestling also commented on the same. The account mentioned that the upcoming WrestleMania might “tank” if promos like these continue.
While Gewirtz clapped back at the trolls online, there is another problem that he needs to figure out a solution for soon.
Dwayne Johnson’s battle with BS&P (Broadcast Standards & Practices)
The Rock‘s return to WWE marked the return of Brian Gewirtz. There are many possible reasons why he returned, but most importantly, he will be directing Johnson’s current narrative at WWE. This also meant that the Hollywood star would be turning heel after almost two decades. But this has caused a bit of trouble.

A few days ago, he did express his stance on the situation and it looks like he is not going to back down. However, let us know in the comments below whether you think the quality of promos has been dwindling.
