On NXT TakeOver: In Your House 2021, WWE brought back the infamous Million Dollar Championship after almost a decade. After a hard-hitting battle in a ladder match, LA Knight defeated Cameron Grimes.

Knight and Grimes both revealed how much the title meant to them. For Grimes, it was a symbol of acknowledgment for being the “Richest Man in NXT,” while Knight fought to revive the lost glory of the title.

In a post-show interview, NXT producers Triple H and Shawn Michaels spoke about the revival of the title. On the show, both men reunited briefly as a throwback to their time as Degeneration-X.

Speaking on both Grimes and Knight’s awe and admiration of Hall of Famer Ted DiBiase Sr, ‘The Game‘ commented that the times have changed a lot.

“It used to be when we came into the business, you almost weren’t allowed to admit you’re a fan,” he revealed. “You almost weren’t allowed to admit that you watched the programming, or if you said to somebody that ‘oh man, I was a huge fan of you growing up,’ you were just an outcast.”

“To see that being able to change, to see guys appreciated, you know what it means to them because you knew what it meant to you. To see that being able to be expressed now and admiring the business in such a different place, it’s great.

Triple H revealed Cameron Grimes and LA Knight were emotional to see the title

As we mentioned earlier, both men had revealed their dedication to the title. Either Knight or Grimes would have been a great champion for the revival.

Triple H revealed how emotional Million Dollar title contenders got as they saw the title for the first time. He said, “I can tell you, the first time both Grimes and LA Knight saw the million-dollar title for the first time, they both had to turn away and kind of take a deep breath because they both got tears in their eyes. It was really cool to see.”
