Former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal made his return to WWE’s main roster tonight (10/5/21). On RAW, he faced fellow former world champion, Jeff Hardy.

The match was relatively short. Mahal picked up the victory with his finishing move, The Khallas. While this match showed the strength of Mahal, fans are not happy with the treatment of Hardy.

Hardy is a multi-time world champion. Between WWE, Impact, and ROH, Hardy has held 29 total championships. He and his brother Matt revolutionized the Tag Team division and envisioned the now-infamous Tables, Ladders and Chairs matches.

Jinder, on the other hand, is a one-time world champion and is infamous for having one of the worst reigns in the company history. He also had a brief US title reign and a two-time 24/7 champion.

Hardy is still one of the most prolific wrestlers on the red brand. Yet, he had his last substantial match during Elimination Chamber 2020. He lost the match against Drew McIntyre.

Following the match, fans became furious over Hardy’s ill-treatment in WWE. The hashtag #jeffhardy trended worldwide as WWE Universe demanded justice.

His ill-treatment looks even bitter when the fans compare his brother Matt Hardy’s status in AEW. Some fans even added Matt Hardy’s name to their tweets.

Matt Hardy revealed what it is like to be up against Jeff Hardy in a different promotion

During a recent interview, Matt Hardy revealed his pre-show ritual with brother Jeff.

“I don’t think there’s any competition any longer. I think we’re just both supportive of one another. So it’s cool,” Hardy revealed.

We’ve almost done it enough where there was a point where I was in WWE and he was in TNA. Or he was in TNA and I was in ROH. I mean, we’ve kind of done this before. So it’s kind of an old hat in some ways. But we’re now more than ever just supportive of one another.”

Matt also revealed that they text each other ahead of their shows, asking what they are up to that night. During Matt Hardy’s cinematic matches in AEW, Hardy wanted his brother.

“I want to get my brother doing it because my brother has such an addiction to doing Swanton [Bombs] and Whisper in the Winds and he wants to do everything because he’s so passionate and he feels like his fans deserve it,” Matt said.
