Earlier on Raw, Drew McIntyre issued an open challenge to the locker room as he decided to be a fighting champion. However, he had one condition – the challenger had to be someone he has never faced for the WWE Championship.

Immediately following that, Dolph Ziggler spoke to Adam Pearce backstage. While everyone thought Ziggler wanted to accept the challenge, the show-off certainly stunned the world by bringing his partner back.
Drew McIntyre dominated the first part of the match with his vintage aggressive style.

The tide turned soon as Roode went after McIntyre’s knee, which was injured by Randy Orton at Clash of Champions. The ‘Glorious one’ began a slow and methodical beat down on McIntyre. In fact, he almost became the WWE Champion after a vicious DDT.

Unfortunately, all that effort went to waste for the returning Roode, after McIntyre connected with a claymore and pinned the challenger to regain his title.

Robert Roode returned to the WWE after more than six months
Robert Roode has been missing from WWE TV since April. Before that, he had formed a strong partnership with Dolph Ziggler.
On the August 26, 2019 edition of Raw, Roode and Ziggler teamed up and won the tag team turmoil to win the Raw Tag Team Championship. The reign lasted for a couple of months as they lost it to the Viking Raiders and were drafted to SmackDown.

Performing on the blue brand, Roode was into normal mid-card booking. On December 10, 2019, he was suspended for 30 days for violating the wellness policy.

On the June 22 edition of Raw, Ziggler returned to announce that he and Roode were back on Raw. His return today was a strong start, and we hope the booking only gets better for Roode.
