Former Universal Champion Braun Strowman received an indefinite suspension from WWE programming, after he got into a heated argument with WWE official Adam Pearce and headbutted him.

‘The Monster among Men’ was originally scheduled to face WWE Champion Drew McIntyre. Thus, the sudden suspension raised some questions. However, Dave Meltzer from Wrestling Observer Radio confirmed Strowman suffered a knee injury.

“So Braun Strowman does have a knee injury because he’s being treated for it. I don’t know the severity of it. The impression I have is that he is not going to be at TLC, so I think the three-way is going to be for the spot, but I don’t know that 100%. I don’t think anyone knows anything anyway.”

There is a triple threat match to determine the number one contender for McIntyre on RAW. However, that match might not be the ultimate decider.

“From what someone told me, the writing team still thinks it’s Strowman; that could be wrong. As of Monday, I had heard that part,” Meltzer reports.

Braun Strowman lost his Universal Title prior to his entry on RAW. Since then, fans have been pitting him against the WWE Champion. Strowman was a promising contender as well.

Recently, he was a part of the winning team of RAW at Survivor Series. He eliminated fellow heavyweight Otis from the match. So the suspension came as a shock. Braun Strowman also tweeted how the decision was a result of “backstage politics.”
