The fallout from WrestleMania Backlash turned extremely fruitful for Kofi Kingston. The former WWE Champion had a tremendous night with double victories and the main event.
In his first match, Kofi defeated Randy Orton with a distraction from New Day partner Xavier Woods. This eventually led to some tensions between the New Day, Riddle, and Orton.
After this, Kofi came to answer the open challenge of WWE Champion Bobby Lashley. Although everyone thought it was a title match, MVP quickly backtracked and said Kofi was not “worthy” of the match with Lashley.

Both men tried their best to shine. Towards the end, Lashley was dominating Kofi, as Woods got ejected from the ringside. The WWE Champion almost got the win.
MVP was going to hit Kingston with his cane, as the referee was arguing with Woods. Fortunately, Drew McIntyre appeared out of nowhere and took the cane from MVP. He then planted Lashley with it.
Kofi picked the bones and earned an easy win with a roll-up. This was Lashley’s first loss since his title victory in January, and the double victory was an incredible feat for Kofi.
Kofi Kingston reacts to the double victory on Monday Night RAW
Following RAW, The New Day appeared on RAW Talk. Kofi was absolutely elated to pin the WWE Champion and to be the first person to do so since January.
“Let me ask you a question: since Lashley has become champion, how many people have pinned him? Only one, and that’s me. What does that mean, bro? That’s why I always say, ‘when you stay ready, you don’t have to get ready.’ You never know when your opportunity comes, and when it does, you have to capitalize. ”

However, he did not come clear on his world title aspirations. Kingston just said, “I am on the top of the mountain today. But when you stay ready, you don’t have to get ready.” Xavier Woods also supported him.
While it is unlikely that fans would see another KofiMania again, there is something building between the RK-Bros and the New Day.
