Former NXT Champion Keith Lee has apparently taken a sabbatical from the company. He was scheduled to face Bobby Lashley for the WWE United States Championship at Elimination Chamber last year but could not do so because of an injury.

He has been silent on his social media as well. Lee’s last appearance in WWE was last month during NXT TakeOver: Stand and Deliver (Night Two) Watch Along.

On top of all this, his recent response about his next WWE appearance has left the fans in more doubt than ever. However, we finally have some definite news about the otherwise vague situation.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful confirmed that “The Limitless One” is still with WWE. Sapp wrote, “WWE officials and talent have both confirmed to me that Keith Lee has not been released, debunking a vague rumor that was gaining steam this afternoon.”

Ahead of this, Lee had said, “Unfortunately, only time will tell,” what is next in his life. You can see Lee and Sapp’s tweets below  –

What is the update on Keith Lee?

The situation with Keith Lee is very clouded because no one has the answer to what is happening with Lee. No one knows what is keeping him from appearing on TV.

Booker T recently talked about Lee but could not give any confirmed news. “I don’t know. They have been really keeping it hush-hush as far as what’s going on with Keith Lee. It’s gotta be something medically for a guy like him not to be performing.”

It has been 6 months, but Lee is still not medically cleared to compete. There is no news on the type of injury he has/had.

After dropping the NXT title, Lee made his main roster debut on RAW last year. He had his first feud with Randy Orton and defeated ‘The Viper’ under 7 minutes at Payback.

Next, he had feuds with Braun Strowman and Drew McIntyre. Lee even challenged the latter for the WWE title but was unsuccessful. Since then, he had been involved in small storylines with Strowman, Bobby Lashley, and Riddle.

When he finally had a title shot against Lashley, Lee disappeared due to an injury. There is a chance that if Lee was to come back anytime soon, he would feud with Lashley, the current WWE titleholder.
