As announced earlier, WWE RAW featured a huge title match in the first hour this week (8/30). In the opening segment, both Sheamus and Drew McIntyre answered the open challenge of US Champion Damian Priest.
While Sheamus wanted to win back the title, McIntyre was interested in it, as the US title is the only title he never won. WWE Champion Bobby Lashley, in his pursuit of becoming a double champion, was almost getting added to the mix as well.
However, WWE officials Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville settled for a triple threat match. The match was the third match of the night. The match was soon underway.
