After Bobby Lashley retained his WWE Championship at SummerSlam 2021, he returned to WWE RAW to gloat about it. He and MVP opened the show (8/23). However, they were confronted by United States Champion, Damian Priest.

In the beginning, MVP talked about Lashley’s bout against Goldberg. Although he considered the Hall of Famer as a “worthy opponent,” MVP argued that his son Gage attacking Lashley was a cowardly move.

MVP proceeded to call Goldberg, Gage, and the live audience of San Diego cowards. He also made it clear that Lashley would not apologize for his post-match attacks on Gage and Goldberg at SummerSlam.

Soon, WWE United States Champion Damian Priest came out to Lashley. He challenged Lashley to a match and said if Lashley didn’t accept, he’d be the coward.

The match was soon underway. Both men were showing their true colors, but it soon got messier. Former US Champion Sheamus ran out and attacked Priest, making the referee call for a DQ.

Lashley and Sheamus worked on Priest until Drew McIntyre came out and attacked them. The previously one-on-one match was now turned into a tag team match.

Sheamus, Bobby Lashley took on Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest

Sheamus and Drew first started the match, but Lashley quickly tagged in. With repeated offence, The Almighty momentarily dominated his former rival. Sheamus came back again, but McIntyre held him back long enough for Priest to tag in.

Priest promptly took the Irish down and hit the Broken Arrow for a 2 count. Lashley distracted Priest, allowing Sheamus to knock him to the floor. Now, Lashley worked on Priest with repeated slams on the ring posts and barrier.

Back from the break, Sheamus took on Priest with back-to-back pin counts. Lashley came in and wore him down. Priest attempted a tag but Sheamus came back and held him down.

Sheamus held Priest with the Irish Curse backbreaker as fans booed. Priest fought him off, and both men tagged in McIntyre and Lashley, respectively. Drew took on Lashley and almost hit a claymore before getting distracted by Sheamus.

Lashley choke slammed McIntyre onto the mat and waited for the Spear, but McIntyre dodged it. Sheamus tagged back in and sent McIntyre to the apron. He hit the White Noise, but Drew kicked out just in time.

Sheamus was now going for the Brogue Kick. But Drew dodged and Priest came in and dominated both Sheamus and Lashley. As a retaliation, Lashley, and MVP walked out of the match. Drew tagged in time and delivered a Claymore to Sheamus for the pin to win.
