Former WWE SmackDown Women’s champion, Sasha Banks, has been out of WWE programming for a couple of weeks now. She was last seen at WrestleMania 37 when she dropped the title to Bianca Belair.

While Belair has moved on in her rivalry with Bayley, Banks is still out. However, a new opponent from WWE has come up to challenge Banks.

The WSW Women’s Champion and one half of the WWE NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions, Indi Hartwell, recently expressed her wish to become Banks’ new opponent. She answered a Twitter question to volunteer for it. ‘The Boss‘ is yet to comment on the situation.

Indi and Candice LeRae won the NXT titles earlier this month. The duo defeated inaugural champions Shotzi Blackheart and Ember Moon to win the title.

Where did Sasha Banks disappear?

Usually, the losing champion at WrestleMania (or any PPV) immediately uses their rematch clause and faces the new champion. Former WWE Raw Women’s Champion Asuka did the same with new champ Rhea Ripley too.

However, Banks disappeared from the title scene as her former best friend Bayley challenged Bianca and lost to her at WrestleMania Backlash.

So where is Sasha Banks? As per reports, excluding Banks from the title scene was a conscious decision for both the Superstar and the creative team.

Ringside News reported that WWE pulled away Banks from the title scene to give Bayley vs Belair a chance. The feud between Belair and Banks is still on the cards.

The source said that “there was no plan except for Bayley vs Belair” after WrestleMania. Another member noted that “Sasha taking a little time off to let Belair and Bayley have the spotlight” is the plan so “when Sasha attacks Belair, it’ll mean something.”

WWE Creative also does not want a “throw it all away in a three-way match,” hence the next chapter in the feud between Est and The Boss would be a singles match.

Sasha also teased her return on the blue brand recently. She shared a GIF and captioned it with “SmackDown.” The GIF is also from WM 37 i.e. the last night of Banks as the champion.

Although there is no chance of Banks going to NXT, or Hartwell coming to the main roster, their feud could take place somewhere down the line when both of them are on the same chapter in WWE.
