Early in the match, MSK wore Drake Maverick down with their agility and quick tags. However, Dain got into the business and they double-teamed for an opening but failed.
Maverick almost had the win following a moonsault from Dain, but Wes Lee was kicked out at the brink. Nash Carter came in and hit a double team standing Blockbuster on Maverick to pick up the win.
Because of this win, MSK will move onto face the winner of Gran Metalik & Lince Dorado vs. Legado Del Fantasma in the next round.
Grizzled Young Veterans defeated Kushida and Leon Ruff
The match started slowly as Zack Gibson made fun of Kushida and Ruff. But the team shut the veterans as they got a quick opening.
Kushida tried his best with submissions to stay alive in the match, but Gibson and James Drake kept tagging in and out to tire him. Kushida tagged in Ruff.
With a Senton, Ruff almost took the victory home. However, Drake broke the pin at the last moment. Grizzled Young Veterans planted Ruff with the Ticket to Mayhem and picked up the win.
Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez defeated Aliyah and Jessi Kamea
The first round of the first-ever Dusty Rhodes Women’s tournament began as Gonzalez and Kai made their way into the ring with boos from the fans. Gonzalez previously won an intense match with Rhea Ripley.
Raquel Gonzalez dominated Kamea early in the match, but the latter tried to turn it around with repeated offenses. Robert Stone tried to encourage his clients, but things soon turned sour.
