The Hulkster is more looking like a technical wrestler with some high-flying moves involved too. However, he never had such matches in American companies. Hogan’s ‘Real American’ character was so over that a limited set of moves was enough for him to make the crowd go wild.
But can you imagine why Hogan might be able to adapt to Japanese-style wrestling? The reason is simple; he took training under the Japanese wrestling legend Hiro Matsuda.
Legend says he gave a tough time to the first-ever IWGP Heavyweight Champion. Hogan had some more great matches in Japan, mainly against The Great Muta and Antonio Inoki.

Never in my life could I have imagined Hogan hitting an Enzuigiri. This is like a completely different wrestler.

Why on earth would Hogan not wrestle like this in the WWF?
At the very least he could have pulled out these moves for his Mania matches.

A drop kick and enziguri, holy crap

I never thought @HulkHogan did this type of wrestling. I'm amazed by this. I want to find the whole match.

Reason why Hogan was familiar with Japanese wrestling style!
Hogan was trained by Japanese legend Hiro Matsuda so he had to work over there stiff or they would not respect him. All the USA boys worked stiff in Japan it was just part of their wrestling culture.

However, it confused fans looking at The Hulkster having a different style of wrestling!

Hogan doing an Enziguri! Something nobody thought ever.
2 inzaguris ( no idea how to correctly spell that) and a drop toe hold and he was powerbombed… damn guess he did actually know how to wrestle.

Hogan doing an enziguri is not something I thought I’d ever see 😂

Hulk Hogan performing an enziguri is more mind-blowing to me than him slamming Andre 😳

I can't believe that the Hulkster tried to do an enziguri. pic.twitter.com/5P4holYmbA

No one ever bothered to tell me Hogan could wrestle like this. They've been hiding Hulk Hogan's entertaining side in Japan all these years. They didn't even put these in his WWE game move set like come on. This is great.

We can just imagine if Hogan, who was a massive human being at the time, wrestled this way, his stock would have risen more. Anyhow, back in the day, the fans in Japan saw the other side of ‘The Immortal One’.

Hogan wrestled in Japan even though having a WWE contract in the early 90s. He even called the IWGP more important than WWE, but as it was filmed and showed in Japan at the time, Vince McMahon never bothered about the same.
