Former Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn was exasperated during Game 6 of NHL where his favorite team Montreal Canadiens almost lost the game to the Toronto Maple Leafs. It was the first NHL game with a live audience.
Former WWE personnel and longtime friend Renee Paquette (fka Renee Young) asked Twitter if anyone knows Zayn’s whereabouts. To which, Sami himself replied, “I’m in hell, Renee.” To this, Renee jokingly added she was in “OT Purgatory.”
Fans quickly figured out what was going on. From the comments under his tweets, fans started discussing that Zayn was under pressure during the game of his favorite NHL ice hockey team.

Where is Sami Zayn standing in WWE right now?
For the most part of 2020, “The Great Liberator” pursued the Intercontinental Championship on SmackDown. At one point, there were three IC champions on SmackDown. Zayn defeated Jeff Hardy and AJ Styles to become the undisputed champion.
Then, he went on to a tirade about WWE’s ill-treatment towards him. Hellbent on proving his theory, Zayn even went around with his own camera crew, filming the injustices.
Meanwhile, a newly SmackDown resident, Big E, set his sights on Zayn’s title. After feuding for a while, E defeated Zayn to win the title on the last SmackDown of 2020.
Following the loss, Zayn again propagated his “conspiracy theory” and garnered the attention of YouTube sensation Logan Paul. During this time, Zayn started feuding with Kevin Owens.
After a brief interaction on SmackDown, Zayn invited Logan to be his guest of honor for his match against Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 37. Despite multiple trials, Zayn could not keep Logan on his side.

After this, Zayn came back to the title scene as he was part of the fatal four-way match for the Intercontinental Championship on SmackDown a couple of weeks ago. Despite missing last SmackDown, Zayn would surely be back next week.
