The People’s Champion said, “There is no competition with the NFL, that’s the gold standard. But I said what we’d love to do is try and grow the game of football out of respect. Is there a way that we could find a partnership?”

He added, “Roger looked at me and said ‘Yes’, looked at all of us, and said ‘Yes’. So that’s the first step and then the next part was let’s take our time, let’s build the league.”

The WWE legend said, “They’re not big-time stars like you guys and weren’t making millions of dollars like you guys. But they are living the dream you know, these have been your boys too, we have known these players. They are living the dream, they’re trying to work hard, they’re trying to put food on their table, and take care of their families.”
