One thing a superstar can bank on is their fans. Whether it is through their good times or their bad times, they know that their fans and well-wishers are always praying for them. Once again fans proved that even though a star might be out of action, they will still remember them during their tough times. In a recent announcement made by Dave Meltzer, fans expressed their shock after hearing that a former Super Bowl Champion and Ric Flair’s closest friend has been diagnosed with MRSA Staph Infection.

Ric Flair’s ally needs prayers

Taking to X (formerly Twitter) Meltzer announced that Steve McMichael was battling an MRSA Staph infection. In the tweet, he also urged fans to pray for the star. The reason why this infection could turn severe is that in MRSA Staph infection, the bacteria is resistant to most of the antibiotics that are prescribed. Hence, it needs special antibiotics and some time as well.

McMichael, who has garnered an impeccable reputation for his time as an American Football player was always interested in the world of pro wrestling. The star switched to pro wrestling in 1995 as a commentator. While his appearances were few on WWE, he was then a full-time color commentator at WCW. It was during this time he also started training inside the ring.

During the same time, he developed a rivalry with Nature Boy Ric Flair. However, all it took him was a briefcase full of money and a Four Horsemen t-shirt (Flair’s old stable) to change his mind. What followed next was a friendship of a lifetime.
