Ric Flair is one of the most well-known and celebrated pro wrestlers of all-time. Flair has an extremely decorated career, which every pro wrestler dreams of having. The Nature Boy enjoyed a long and successful career, filled with championships and accolades.

The WWE Hall of Famer has wrestled under various wrestling promotions, however, he is most well-known for his work with WWE and WCW. Currently retired, he last year had his one last match against Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett, while teaming up his son-in-law, Andrade.

However, apart from wrestling, Flair also was interested and talent in multiple other things. He has also featured in a music video, and regularly does podcasts. The 73-year-old is also widely known for his love for expensive and materialistic things.

Apart from all of these loves of his, he also has multiple business ventures. However, unknown to his fans, Flair shares a love for American football, the NFL. Recently, while speaking to Conrad on his podcast, he opened up about the Damar Hamlin incident which occurred.

He stated how classy the NFL has gotten, and how professionally they handled the situation. Flair said, “I was so overwhelmed with the fact they were so sensitive to that. Which they should be. The major deal when someone goes down like that and I see the players you know. You never know, I mean, I know a lot about arithmetic problems. So, I’m really sensitive to it.”

Flair further claimed how much horrifying it was for his friends and family. He stated the way NFL handled everything, showed their class and respect. The 16-times World Champion also stated how this incident showed the brotherhood that football is.

He said, “I thought it showed so much class and so much respect from the NFL. And it certainly you know,all his friends and family, and the football players that tweeted out.This shows the kind of support and brotherhood that football is.” 

Ric Flair never played football and was always a pro wrestler. However, being an athlete, he could empathize with what Damlin went through.

Ric Flair opens up on what he wants his kids to choose between wrestling and football

Further in the aforementioned interview, Flair opened up on if he had small kids right now, what he wanted them to do. However, in a surprising turn of events, The Nature Boy revealed that he would want his young kids to choose football over wrestling.

When asked the reason, he stated the people in wrestling are performing some crazy stunts, and are often getting hurt. He, although, justified the respect he has for them, and thus he wants his kids to follow football. NFL won the world’s heart when they stopped the game in between, after Damar Hamlin collapsed on the ground.
