Roman Reigns is a man who dons many hats. He recently showed his punditry in American football by listing his top picks for the NFL Super Bowl. Reigns was a guest on ESPN’s First Take on July 1st morning, along with Paul Heyman. The Head of the Table and The Wiseman of The Bloodline had visited the sets to promote the former’s title match against Jey Uso at SummerSlam. He will be taking on his own bloodline this weekend. But ahead of it, Reigns snubbed another member of his bloodline during his picks.

Reigns also disregarded another factor while picking the teams and it is likely to upset people he grew up with.

In case you’re wondering what Roman Reigns is doing taking picks for Super Bowl, he did play a bit of football before making his pro wrestling debut. Reigns also had off-season stints with Minnesota Vikings and Jacksonville Jaguars during his time in the NFL. But the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion’s football career didn’t advance thereafter.

During his pick, Reigns snubbed both his former teams from his top five list to lift the Super Bowl in February 2024. The 38-year-old grew up in Florida. The state has three NFL teams- Jacksonville Jaguars, Miami Dolphins, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Reigns had a stint with the Jaguars in 2007. But his picks comprise- San Francisco 49ers, Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles, Cincinnati Bengals, and Buffalo Bills, in that order. By doing so, he also overlooked a Samoan NFL player.

Tuanigamanuolepola Donny “Tua” Tagovailoa, 25, plays for the Miami Dolphins as a quarterback. Reigns’ choice doesn’t feature this Samoan NFL player’s team as well, thereby snubbing him during the process.

But Reigns will be up for a test against Jey Uso on Saturday night at Ford Field. But before their title match, Reigns broke the rules of combat, incensing fans.

Meanwhile, Reigns also had a warning for Jey Uso ahead of the match.

Roman Reigns says he’s better than everyone

Jey Uso could be that man to stop Reigns’ juggernaut and historic 1000+ days reigns, the first in the new millennium. But his opponent believes he’s above everyone.

Speaking to the hosts at First Take, Reigns said several people, including Brock Lesnar and John Cena, have tried to take his belts, but have failed.

“It doesn’t matter anymore. Head and shoulders above everybody. It’s not even funny anymore,” he blatantly dismissed a chance of his loss at SummerSlam on August 5.

Jey Uso, however, will take inspiration from the fact that he managed to pin his cousin at Money In The Bank. Though it was a tag team, non-title match, it still ended with Reigns on the losing side. While Uso would be hoping for an encore, Reigns would be looking toward extending his domination as a singles champion.
