Bill Belichick is one of the greatest coaches and general managers in NFL history. And any comparison to this legend is the sincerest form of compliment to any manager. But what if someone is even greater than the legend himself? Well, the legend in question is Paul Heyman and the person complimenting him is none other than Pat McAfee, NFL’s biggest star in recent years.

Paul Heyman is a legend in his own right. Transforming the current sphere of wrestling into the more extreme and changing the way bookers entertained the crowd, Paul Heyman is a certified genius. So while Pat McAfee isn’t wrong in any context, comparing two legends sparked a conversation neither one wanted to be a part of.

In the recent episode of SmackDown, the main event was Drew McIntyre and Sheamus going up against The Usos. While the Tag Team titles were not on the line, this match would act as the Money in the Bank qualifying match for the two rivals.

Concerning this week’s main event, Pat McAfee said, “Scared? Nah. They’re playing chess, not checkers. They’re thinking one step ahead. You can’t lose to a guy who isn’t in the match. Paul Heyman is Bill Belichick. That’s why Paul Heyman is winning.”

Heyman took to Twitter to express his views about Pat McAfee’s comment about his genius. Commenting, “This is very flattering coming from @NFL All Pro @PatMcAfeeShow, although we all know Bill Belichick is not in my league!

Paul Heyman’s influence on pro wrestling

A wrestling business veteran, Paul Heyman started his journey when he came under the notice of the two giants of the era, WWF and WCW. While the two gigantic machines were fighting over viewers and numbers, Heyman took over ECW, Eastern Championship Wrestling, and converted it into Extreme Championship Wrestling.

This promotion generated a cult following instantly, as people would come from all over the place to see some of the most brutal and unfiltered wrestling in history. Many big names debuted or caught the attention of many during this time. Sabu, Terry Funk, and Rob Van Dam are just some of the wrestlers.
