WWE Hall of Famer Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler shared a tweet giving his views on what must have happened to Hamlin. He was guessing it might be a heart attack, but the way he guessed angered the WWE and NFL fans.
Lawler wrote that he was “willing to bet,” about Damar Hamlin might have suffered a “cardiac arrest from the blunt trauma of that blow to his chest”. He further referred to a similar experience he had in 2012 while commentating on Monday Night RAW.
I would be willing to bet that Damar Hamlin has suffered a cardiac arrest from the blunt trauma of that blow to his chest… I know what this is like from experience…

The 73-year-old legend was on commentary in a 2012 RAW episode, which was in Toronto, Canada. While Kane and Daniel Bryan were having a match with The Prime Time Players, Lawler collapsed at the announcing table.
He had just had a tag team match earlier that night against CM Punk and Dolph Ziggler. It was a frightening moment for everyone and Michael Cole respectfully handled the situation on commentary that night, announcing Lawler’s incident.

Using the word ‘Bet’ by the WWE Hall of Famer has left fans angry.
Strange thing to be “willing to bet.” Speculation is not helpful. Shameful. https://t.co/U4Arc7zl4t

Who is paying you to say this Jerry? He had a chest plate on, pads and the hit wasn’t the worst by any means I’ve ever seen. 1) You didn’t wear pads. 2) You are still alive 3) You weren’t forced by a company to take an experimental Vaccine over a fake virus. I pray he survived. https://t.co/p6jigXv6XV
