Cristiano Ronaldo might not have introduced himself in the world of pro wrestling yet, but he shares a deep affinity with the sport. From clicking a picture with Rey Mysterio to expressing sheer joy at The Undertaker‘s surprise appearance at the Riyadh Season Cup Final, CR7’s WWE connection is rooted deeper than we can think of. The 39-year-old was even close to meeting the ring at Crown Jewel back in November 2023, but failed to do so because of a last-minute schedule change. But the chances are not over yet.

Connecting all the past dots, this year’s King and Queen of The Ring event emanating from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia looks like an ideal place to host that nixed affair of the last year. And WWE icon Chelsea Green seems to be all geared up to get a buzz out of it.

Green made a one-off comeback on WWE NXT after getting planted on the blue brand. She unsuccessfully challenged Roxanne Perez in a major championship match on May 7. While The Hot Mess almost took the match in her favor by going for a roll-up, Perez managed to kick out. After going back and forth for a while, The Prodigy hit the Pop Rox on Green and got away with the win. However, leaving the past behind, the SmackDown stars are now all decked up to fly to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to enjoy a fun King and Queen of The Ring weekend.

The 33-year-old unleashed her fangirl era on X cryptically revealing she has packed Ronaldo-jersey for the event. Green posted an angelic picture of herself in traditional Saudi attire with the caption, Counting down the days until I’m back in Saudi Arabia My Ronaldo jersey is packed! Now… what colour abaya should I buy this time?”

The tweet came off as a booster of the already existing anticipation of the Portuguese legend to grace the WWE event from his league country. However, apart from Green, it seems another massive WWE star will find his stars elated if Ronaldo ends up attending the Saudi Arabian event.

Drew McIntyre butt heads against Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Champion to kick-start the exaggerated night of Crown Jewel 2023. The two arch-rivals’ intense promo works finally led to their hard-hitting brawl. After multiple close calls from each side, Rollins picked up the win. But it was McIntyre who caught a lot of attention by pulling in a signature Cristiano Ronaldo style in a momentary celebration during the match.

While the match didn’t go in his favor in the end, his utmost respect and appreciation for Ronaldo has been left bare. He will probably be another happy soul like millions if the Al Nassr star appears at the Saturday event next week.
