Jason Kelce announced his retirement from the NFL a couple of weeks ago after having played 13 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles. The 36-year-old center had a successful career and was crowned champion in the SBLII Super Bowl.

And with a lot of free time in his hand after a legendary career, it seems like the NFL star would be looking for a change of sport. At least that’s what is being planned as he has been invited to WrestleMania XL! But how and why? Let’s find out.

According to recent reports, the WWE has approached Jason Kelce to make an appearance at WrestleMania XL. In their recent report, Fightful wrote, “We already know Logan Paul is competing, and Pat McAfee will be calling the show. We’ve seen the announcements of Meek Mill and Lil Wayne’s appearances at the show. However, that’s far from the only celebrity involvement we could see. Fightful Select has learned that WWE reached out to recently retired Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce for a possible WrestleMania appearance. Kelce is a huge star in the sports world in general, but especially in Philadelphia and doubly so at Lincoln Financial Field, where he’s played for the last decade.”

But what could be the reason behind the move? The first would be the popularity of the Kelce brother’s podcast, called New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce. Also, the future NFL Hall of Famer has openly declared himself a wrestling fan. Also, WrestleMania is taking place in the home stadium of the Eagles. But let’s not forget that Kelce notoriously wore a luchador mask. It was when he was partying and celebrating Travis’ Super Bowl 58 win with the Kansas City Chiefs over the San Francisco 49ers. Also, seeing Kelce at WrestleMania just makes too much sense. After all, this won’t be the first time that a former football star will make his appearance.

Over the years, several former football stars have taken part in the showcase of the Immortals. Former New York Giants linebacker Lawrence Taylor appeared in the WWE in 1995 for WrestleMania 11. Ex-New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Rob Gronkowski became the host of WrestleMania 36 in 2020. Former Indianapolis Colts punter and media star Pat McAfee appeared at WrestleMania 38 in 2022 and is now the commentator at WWE’s red brand. San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle made his appearance at WrestleMania 39. Now that’s quite a long list. But there’s a slight chance that Jason Kelce might end up as a fighter in the grand event. Well, that is, if the Miz trains him well.

For the Miz, former NFL football star Jason Kelce has everything it takes and great potential to become a wrestler. He might also have matches in WWE quite successfully. The Miz revealed this in an interview with TMZ Sports as he highlighted the great athletic power of Kelce, who is 36 years old, weighs 128 kilos, and is one meter and 91 centimeters tall.

On being asked if he would like to train Kelce, The Miz said, “Hell Yeah! [I would be willing to train Jason Kelce] Are you kidding me? Train him into a superstar. I mean, as big of a superstar he is in the NFL, we’ll make him as big as a superstar in WWE. He could be very dangerous in a WWE ring. Not only with just the athleticism and the part of the wrestling, which I think he could absolutely do. I watched him jump up at a Bills game, from like down and jump up into a window, and I was like ‘Oh my god! This guy is like 300lbs! How did he do that, that’s incredible!’. Let alone the charisma, as we were talking about. The ability to talk on the microphone and be captivating and innovative is something I just think he has a knack for.”

Well, it surely looks like even the Miz wants to train the superstar. And if he does and Kelce makes his appearance as a fighter in WrestleMania, then the event would surely become a bigger hit that the massive spectacle it is already bound to be. What do you think? Will we get to see Kelce fight at Mania? Let us know in the comments.
