Johnson’s foresight as a business mogul or as an established sports entity isn’t subject to any doubt. The iconic WWE megastar is now invested in trying some path-breaking measures to ensure XFL’s more growth in the days to come. For this purpose in mind, Johnson gave spring football a much more viable sports entity’s status with the announcement of the upcoming XFL and USFL merger.

According to the official declaration of the merger, it will start from the very next season and it is largely expected to give a boost to the overall development of the collective sports, coaches, staff, and players.

Also, it made more sense given both the leagues run their seasons at the same time of the year. So, the idea of joining forces looks more profitable than competing with each other to an astute business mind, like DJ.

Reflecting on his decision, Johnson posted the official declaration of the merger on social media.

But does it really make a difference in the current status of The Rock’s XFL or the overall development of football? Let us dig deeper.

What will the merger bring to the table?

Spring Football has been no less than a dream to the wide football fanatics after NFL seasons faded away. And when the discussion revolves around Spring Football, XFL and the USFL must rise to prominence. Both leagues can become alpha figures in keeping the fans content during the post-NFL phases. Johnson has taken a lesson from his pro wrestling days with the popular policy of, ” if you can’t beat ’em, join ”em.”

It will help bring all the non-NFL top talents under one umbrella. Also, the similar viewer graph of both leagues can be a factor in an immediate boost in the form of merged viewerships. At least, it can help catch more eyeballs to the new XFL/USFL league.
