Johnson has been a vocal advocate for the XFL, ensuring its focus on player opportunity and innovation. He has also used his star power to help promote the league, appearing in XFL games and events.

On Instagram, Johnson posted, “As a league owner – I just want to deliver amazing spring football to the fans, create incredible opportunities for the players.” This comes after the XFL and USFL merged operations to form the United Football League (UFL). The season will feature eight teams from both the XFL and USFL will compete. Despite being divided into two teams, the entity is one.
