

Vince McMahon is a very good businessman. No matter what one thinks of his creative decisions, one cannot argue that Vince takes great business decisions. WWE has existed for years now and it keeps getting bigger. It is now a global entity. A lot of WWE’s success has to do with its Chairman, Vince McMahon. He is the deciding authority on various fronts of WWE, and till now he has rarely missed the mark.
A certified billionaire, Vince has a lot of experience in the sports and entertainment industry. Another person with similar credentials is the Los Angeles Rams team owner, Stan Kroenke. Kroenke is a billionaire who is also the owner of the famous soccer team, Arsenal FC. But back in 2009, the billionaires came to a standoff and McMahon is his trademark flare went after Kroenke with his full might.

Kroenke owns The Denver Nuggets and once he and WWE got into a scheduling conflict. WWE had booked The Pepsi Center before Kroenke, but the deal was not finalized until later. Kroenke had high hopes for The Denver Nuggets to win the playoffs against The Loss Angeles Lakers and hence had double booked the stadium.
WWE hence had to shift venues at the last minute and this angered the Chairman. He attacked Kroenke in the interview, “It’s my view that Stan Kroenke should be arrested for impersonating a good businessman. Because he is not a good businessman.”

Vince McMahon further said that he did not believe that The Denver Nuggets would win the playoffs and hence it was a bad decision by Kroenke to throw WWE out suddenly. McMahon, being a legendary promo cutter, then poked fun at Kroenke, challenging him to a steel cage match to settle the matter. Vince was correct in his prediction as Kroenke’s team lost the playoffs. Unfortunately, the steel cage match between the two billionaires never happened.

Even though Vince McMahon is the Chairman of WWE, he often appears on WWE TV playing an evil boss character “Mr.McMahon”. He has achieved brilliant success with this character and has evoked a lot of emotion from the WWE Universe. McMahon has a good sense of humor and his sarcastic remarks often help him to deliver a great segment. Perhaps on TV, his most legendary feud was with ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin.

Many say that this feud defined the Attitude Era and helped WWE to win the Monday Night Wars. A lot of credit has to be given to Vince for this victory. However, this incident with Kroenke shows that the Chairman of WWE always finds a way to entertain his fans.
