Bron Breakker entered the wrestling world through WWE NXT, where he wreaked havoc for three years before arriving on the main roster. Recent developments on Monday Night Raw have led Breakker to feud with other stars for the Intercontinental Championship. It is safe to say that Breakker’s wrestling career is flourishing so far but this is probably not what he wanted to do in the first place.
Much like some other wrestlers in the industry, Breakker entered the world of sports with football first. The now-wrestler traveled a long road in the world of football before ending up in WWE.

Born in Georgia, USA, Bronson Rechsteiner grew up loving the sport of football. When he reached high school, the October 1997-born first started his journey to play on a football team. He studied at the Etowah High School and won the Georgia state championship in the 220 lb weight class in 2016. He chased the same sport to the university level when he arrived at Kennesaw State University. While studying criminal justice at the uni, Breakker became a part of the Kennesaw State Owls Football varsity team. He contributed to the defensive and special teams lineup in his freshman year in 2016. Then, he also went on to progress into offense as a running back in 2017.
His football career took a new turn after college when Bron Breakker became a part of the NFL and joined the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free-agent fullback in April 2020. A few months later, in August 2020, he was released from the contract. This is when he started bringing out the wrestler inside him and pursued the same career as his father, Rick Steiner, and uncle Scott Steiner, who performed together as the Steiner Brothers.

Nevertheless, the Raw star wasn’t the first wrestler to try his hand at football before transitioning to pro wrestling.
Bron Breakker wasn’t the first wrestler to have tried football
WWE has seen some more stars who previously tried other sports and then ended up in WWE, eventually. The roster has seen some MMA stars and also those who used to pursue football back in the day. Names like Dwayne Johnson and Brock Lesnar are on the same list. While The Rock had a close-knit past with football while growing up, Lesnar’s story was completely different. Much like Bron Breakker, Johnson also honed his football skills during his college days at the University of Miami. On the contrary, The Beast Incarnate joined football while on a break from wrestling.

When he first left the wrestling world, the multi-time WWE champion tried his luck in other sports, too. This included UFC and also the NFL. Brock Lesnar eventually landed a spot in the Minnesota Vikings in the nationally renowned league. However, he was let go from the team because of his inexperience playing football professionally, and some injuries as well. While he ended up back in the leading wrestling promotion, Johnson found himself eventually creating his own football league, which is now called, after a merger deal, the UFL.
Will Bron Breakker find himself keeping his passion for football intact like Dwayne Johnson? Or will it fade away like it did with Brock Lesnar? Comment your thoughts below.
