WWE superstar and former NXT women’s champion Rhea Ripley speaks about getting valuable advice from Shawn Micheals.

Ripley joined NXT in 2018. She has had a great two years in WWE winning the inaugural NXT UK women’s championship and then later winning the NXT women’s championship.

NXT is a developmental brand that helps talents around the world to develop themselves before joining the main roster. In addition, it acts as a platform to allow novice wrestlers to fine-tune and hone their craft properly. Notable graduates from the Performance Center are Braun Strowman and Alexa Bliss.

The best feature of NXT other than grooming the future stars are the past icons who are currently nurturing these young athletes. One such icon who is now a coach at NXT is The Heart Break Kid, Shawn Micheals, and certainly, Rhea Ripley is making the most of his tutelage.

Rhea Ripley speaks about learning from WWE legends like Triple H and Shawn Micheals

Ripley speaks about the wonderful atmosphere at the Performance Center. She also speaks about how wonderful it can be to learn from their childhood heroes.

Here is what Rhea Ripley said in an interview with WWOS.

“I’ve had a lot of people pass on advice to me and it’s super crazy to think about that. Having people like Triple H and Shawn Michaels at the performance center, it’s just insane.

“All the people around me are just so great. They’ve all been through it and they all know so much and to have them all give me their knowledge is so insane. Going into work and seeing Shawn Michaels – someone I watched growing up – how many people can say that? That they get to see people like Shawn Michaels at work and that they get to learn off Shawn Michaels. To me that’s insane.”

Ripley also spoke about how Micheals would guide her whenever needed and then would advice her to not listen to an old man.

“I remember Shawn Michaels just walking around, and he came over to me and started telling me things, and he’s like, ‘You don’t have to listen to me, I’m just an old man.’ I’m like, ‘You’re not just an old man, you’re Shawn Michaels! You’re one of the best. Of course, I’m going to listen to you.’”

Shawn Micheals is perhaps the greatest in-ring performer of all time. Having HBK as one’s wrestling professor is just what up and coming athletes like Ripley need to take their game to the next level.

One should not forget to give credit where it’s due and that’s to Triple H. It was The Game’s vision to set up the Performance Center.

Triple H during his glory days found that there was a shortage of infrastructure and facilities in the business. Therefore, he ensured that the next generation of Superstars don’t have to suffer as he did.

Whether one uses the knowledge or not, learning from Triple H and Shawn Michaels can take you a long way.
