“You’re A Bunch of Spineless Cowards”- WWE Superstar Trashes Rey Mysterio on WWE SmackDown

Rey Mysterio’s family does not seem like the kind of family that would take shortcuts to win. The unholy union of Murphy and Aalyah has yielded something that we never thought we would see in a WWE ring. On WWE SmackDown, Rey Mysterio and his family helped Murphy beat King Corbin in cheap fashion.

Corbin confronts Rey Mysterio and Murphy

Corbin challenged Murphy to a match backstage during an interview by Kayla Braxton. The Mysterios and Murphy were being interviewed by Kayla, when the former King of the Ring interrupted them and challenged them to match.

Corbin was supposed to face Otis to kick off WWE SmackDown. However, a vicious assault by Jey Uso on Otis costed Corbin his opponent, which led to him challenging Murphy to an impromptu match.

Murphy is one of the biggest faces on WWE SmackDown

Murphy has been on an absolute roll since aligning with the Mysterios and Aalyah. Rey Mysterio’s daughter has proven to be a lucky charm for the former disciple of Seth Rollins. He even picked up a huge win against Seth Rollins before Survivor Series to complete the transition to Team Mysterio.

Corbin was in red hot form and dominated Murphy. However, Aalyah was able to interfere and swing the match in her new boyfriend’s favour. A little while later, Dominik Mysterio distracted Corbin long enough for Murphy to knock Corbin out with a deadly knee strike.

Corbin berates Rey Mysterio and Murphy for cheating to win

After their match, Corbin paced the ring in rage as the Mysterio family and Murphy celebrated at ringside. He grabbed the microphone, and unleased a string of insults at Rey Mysterio and his family’s way. He called them a bunch of “spineless cowards.”

The match had several weird moments for the viewers. Murphy turned babyface after aligning with the Mysterio family, and Corbin is SmackDown’s most despicable heel. This wasn’t a reversal of roles, but seemed weird to see someone who beat Seth Rollins and Daniel Bryan to resort to heel tactics to beat Corbin.

After Corbin’s tirade, he challenged Murphy to a rematch next week on WWE SmackDown. He promised Mysterio and Murphy that he would be ready to match their numbers game. Does this mean Corbin is going to recruit some protection? If yes, we cannot wait to see who it shall be.
