Following WrestleMania 38, Pat McAfee entered the ring once more at a premium WWE event. At SummerSlam 2022, the SmackDown commentator, who had defeated Theory at WrestleMania, squared off against Happy Corbin, his former roommate from the NFL. And once more, the former NFL player continued to display his prowess on the biggest stage.

No wrestler on the biggest platform wants to make an entrance, as Happy Corbin did. The chant that made this fight possible—”Bum A** Corbin”—was being sung by a choir group in the arena. Corbin certainly wasn’t at all happy. Whereas McAfee arrived in style and had the entire crowd cheering for him.

McAfee made a strong start with a super-kick to begin, then used a hurricane roller and started the match with a bang. However, Corbin gradually gained control of the fight and started striking and slamming against the barriers.

Corbin also used his position of power to knock McAfee into the commentary table, where he and Michael Cole had exchanged messages. Michael Cole termed Corbin a bully and added, “Your parents will be embarrassed,” while speaking on live television.

McAfee had time to recover from the attack in the interim. Additionally, McAfee changed the contest when he launched an attack on Corbin from the top of the ropes. As soon as Corbin entered the ring upon his recovery, he unintentionally struck the referee. This gave McAfee the advantage, and he smacked Corbin on his ba**s, something Vince McMahon infamously known for. Following that, he again flew from the top to win for the second time in a row.

How did the Pat McAfee versus Corbin rivalry begin?

The animosity started when the SmackDown announcer called Corbin “Corbin’s bum a**.” As a result, after losing to Madcap once more, Corbin raged at him and reprimanded him for mocking him during his commentary, and warned him not to continue.

Later, at the following SmackDown, McAfee delivered a brutal promo in which the SmackDown commentator once again referred to him as a bum a**. The Rock also praised the promo, which ignited the fans’ interest. And now they proved themselves as they put on a superb duel in the ring.
