In season 3 episode 2 of ‘Hart to Heart’ show on Peacock, the two Hollywood actors bonded over not having a decent relationship with their fathers. That being said, at one point during the interview, Hart blamed Cena for setting him up and making him look like a terrible son in front of the audience.

During the interview, Hart and Cena talked about a bunch of subjects, one of them being their relationship with their fathers. Hart asked the WWE superstar about his relationship with his dad. The latter mentioned he is not very close to his father. Sensing that he and Cena share a similar fate, the Jumanji star poured his heart out in front of Cena.
Hart mentioned his father was a “crackhead” and therefore didn’t have a close relationship with him. ‘Mr. P’ stated that he too didn’t have a normal relationship with his father, but his dad was not a crackhead. Hart felt like he opened up to Cena, thinking that they would relate to each other and share their sorrows. Therefore, when Cena said so, he jokingly implied that it made him look bad.
He said, “I thought you said there was — I just threw myself out there. I threw myself out there based off you saying we’re on similar paths thinking you would go, mine’s too. And now one of us looks like a d**khead and one of us don’t.”
“Are you? Are you? Because you set me up. You f*cking set me up good John, you sat there with your beady eyes, you looked me right in mine, you said, ‘I think we’re on very similar paths’ and I said, alright, here it comes, he’s a f*cking crackhead. You go, welp, that’s tough,” he added.
‘The Champ’ then apologized to Hart and clarified why the situation with his father was different.

Cena never got validation from his father except for one time
Cena stated that for the better part of his life, he longed for his father’s validation. But his father never cared about him or his accolades. He always tried to impress his father but in vain. In addition, he blamed himself for not having a good relationship with his dad.
He then mentioned that the only time he got validation from his father was when he got a job in WWE. His father, who was a longtime wrestling fan, was proud of him for landing his first contact in WWE. Cena mentions that to this day, his father feels proud of that, which is very unreal for him.
