In the past year, Sami Zayn saw his popularity skyrocket among WWE fans, largely due to his work with The Bloodline. Several twists and turns later, Sami and his longtime frenemy Kevin Owens captured the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship. They dethroned The Usos, bringing an end to their record-setting run, at WrestleMania 39. It was one of the highlights of the marquee event. Despite the win, fans have shown concerns for the Canadian wrestler, questioning his future in the company.
Fans unhappy after Sami Zayn’s title win
The hype that Zayn enjoyed before his title win, has slowly started to wane. Even after their win, the Zayn-Owens tag team has feuded with their former rivals- Jay and Jimmy Uso. Several fans have taken to social media to express their views about the lack of action involving the 38-year-old Canadian native.

It started as this user asked if the Sami Zayn-Kevin Owens hype had gone down.
Is it just me or the hype for Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens has gone down for real ? pic.twitter.com/6kWATMGyK9

Responding to the tweet, this user said the recent development wasn’t surprising. “They botched the biggest storyline by having it end in anticlimactic fashion at a minor PPV,” part of the tweet read.
Not surprising. They botched the biggest storyline by having it end in anticlimactic fashion at a minor PPV. Both jobbed to Reigns too. You can’t be a big star if you can’t reach the top. A complete waste.

Another said the hype could have been boosted with a change in the WrestleMania 39 match card.
Sami was white hot coming out of the Rumble. He should have been the one to beat Roman. The Tag Titles were WWEs way of coddling the fans who wanted the strap on Sami, and while that’s helped a little, they haven’t really done anything to write a defining story for them to…

This user said giving the Tag Team gold to the pair was a consolation prize.
That's what happens when you bury them and give them tag belts as a consolation prize
1000 days was worth more than Sami, Drew, and Cody
Why should the fans invest in them when the writers won't

While this fan isn’t happy with Kevin Owens tagging along with Zayn.
I'll be honest, I just can't get on with Kevin Owens. He doesn't fit the tag division or those titles. He's a singles guy who should be a main player, and the fact that either of these two are basically taking back seats in 50/50 tag roles is weird to me. Just doesn't work imo

Other reactions:
Its because the booking is bad. Sami should have beat roman when he had the chance… with the help from kevin. And then down the line kevin and sammy should have feuded.

It doesn't help that they're playing it like there's descension in the ranks between them already and that they're still in the same feud with the Usos. And that they felt the need to add Matt Riddle to the mix immediately.

Meanwhile, Sami and Owens might have bad news awaiting them in the next few weeks.
Is Sami Zayn going to lose his tag team belt?
For now, the Canadian duo has both the Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Championships. However, there is a chance that they might have to drop the blue brand titles.

WWE will host its upcoming PLE, Night of Champions, in Saudi Arabia on May 27. It is a known fact that Sami Zayn doesn’t fight in the Middle Eastern county, owing to his heritage. Traditionally, every belt must be defended at the said event. In a scenario where Zayn will not be able to compete, WWE has few choices apart from asking him to relinquish the gold.
One might now ask: Why the SmackDown title? Well, in the recently concluded WWE Draft, Zayn and Owens were picked up by the RAW. While it makes little sense for the newly crowned champions to give up both titles, they can keep the ones that belong to their respective brand.

Who then will fight for the blue gold? Interestingly, the former champions- The Usos- were picked by SmackDown. Even after dropping the belt, they have locked horns with the current title holders, hinting that the WWE creative isn’t done with the brothers.
Another team who has enjoyed a good run recently is Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins’s The Street Profits. They won a fatal four-way tag team match at the SoFi Stadium on Night One of WrestleMania 39.
Both teams are a part of SmackDown. But for that to happen, it is necessary for the current undisputed champions to lose to either of them. So WWE won’t be short of options if they want to put the SmackDown tag team titles on a different team come Night of Champions.
