WWE released a bunch of superstars from its main roster including Dolph Ziggler and Mustafa Ali. The budget cut was expected to happen, but another talented superstar was released recently that made the headlines. Interestingly enough, this young superstar has a strong background in MMA as he fought in the UFC too.

There was a time when he promised to retire Brock Lesnar from wrestling, but that seems unlikely now. Talking on a podcast recently, the former WWE World Champion talked about him and how things caught up to him eventually.

Booker-T criticizes Matt Riddle amidst his sudden release from WWE

While speaking to Brad Gilmore on Reality of Wrestling Podcast WWE Legend Booker-T spoke about Matt Riddle. The Original Bro was recently released by WWE last week.

During his time in WWE, Riddle had garnered controversy with his personal life issues and having heat with stars such as Goldberg, Brock Lesnar, and Seth Rollins. Moreover, he recently accused a cop of sexually assaulting him at New York City’s JFK Airport in a since-deleted online post.

Two-times Hall of Fame, Booker-T said, “You know, you can get away with that stuff only for so long. Then, it catches up with you. Coz, then you become a liability. You don’t want people in the news for negative reasons, it’s the last thing you want, it’s the last thing you need.”

It is known that the reason for his release was related to his out-of-ring shenanigans which he was warned about. He was also released from UFC for failing drug tests while he had similar wellness-related issues at WWE. Booker-T was referring to those actions and repeated warnings from WWE authority to Riddle.

It is known that Riddle had backstage issues with several top WWE superstars like Seth Rollins, Brock Lesnar, and even Goldberg. He would often take to social media to either criticize or pass unnecessary comments upon them.

He once famously said that he would retire Brock Lesnar from wrestling. However, it was his comments upon Goldberg that got Booker-T riled up more.

Matt Riddle had beef with Goldberg and other superstars

Booker T complimented Riddle for his in-ring talent and mic work and appreciated how lucky Riddle was to work alongside Randy Orton during his rise. However, he quickly criticized Riddle for not paying enough respect to WWE legend Goldberg.

Riddle had previously mocked Goldberg for his limited in-ring abilities through a series of tweets.
