Sasha Banks left WWE in May 2022. The female wrestler eventually joined the New Japan Pro Wrestling in early 2023. Banks’ overseas quest brought her quick fame in the company, with her securing a title soon after her entry. Banks established herself as Mercedes Mone in the Japanese promotion. After destroying several opponents standing in her way, she jumped to wrestle Mayu Iwatani.

It seems like none of Mone’s trash talk in the build-up worked because Iwatani ended up winning the match transparently. However, the former WWE star couldn’t handle the humiliation. Mone took to Twitter soon after losing the match, threatening Iwatani.

Banks and Iwatani had a showdown at ‘Stardom: All-Star Grand Queendom’. The event was produced by NJPW’s sister promotion. Banks fought hard to defend her title however, Iwatani got the best of her. The Japanese wrestler won Mone’s title but had to endure her wrath on social media.

Soon after the conclusion of her match, Mone tweeted, “You are NOT the Undertaker! But you will be a dead bitch the next time I see you [Mayu Iwatani].” Banks referenced The Undertaker because the Hall of Famer is popular for the fan myth that he has 7 lives. Contextually, Banks denied the comparison because she threatened to kill Iwatani the next time they clash inside the ring.

After getting the ticket to the ‘Queendom’ event, Mone was featured in a promo two weeks ago. She called out Mayu Iwatani for a match that would eventually conclude in the big event.

In the promo, Banks sounded confident that she would send her opponent back without even a single hit on her hands. However, the opposite ended up happening.
