WWE holds a great amount of power in the business of sports entertainment. Every aspiring wrestler wants to join the promotion for recognition and respect. There is no doubt in the fact that WWE wrestlers end up getting a lot of love and fame from every corner of the world However, not all wrestlers are brought up with the same mindset.

Any aspiring wrestler would have been happy to enter Vince McMahon’s WWE back in the day or even today. There was one exceptionally talented superstar who wanted to be his “own master” and walk his own path. In a recent interview, AEW star Kenny Omega explained the reason why he didn’t choose WWE even though it could’ve led to possibly a much bigger career and recognition.

WWE is not the dream of all wrestlers

AEW superstar Kenny Omega recently appeared in a radio interview with CBC. The wrestler offered some unfiltered opinions. During the duration of the interview, he also explained the reason why he didn’t stay in WWE despite being a part of their developmental system years ago.

We were raised as young individuals, as aspiring wrestlers, to believe that there’s one end game. There’s one place that you want to go. There’s one place that you need to go. You are a failure if you don’t go there. It was WWF,the master of the AEW’s ring explained. Even after all this conditioning, Omega did not follow through and changed the course of his career.

Omega saw himself not enjoying the end result that WWE would have gotten him. Following this thought process, he tried every other territory available to him and built his reputation. He then further explained: “I guess I just wanted to be my own master and commander. And what I wanted to do was I wanted to make my stories more relatable. I wanted to tell human stories.” This caused the shift in his career that we can see today.

Despite the rivalry between WWE and AEW some WWE legends also support Omega in his career. This weird connection between him and AEW’s rival company has led to several speculations. Time and again, Omega has also dropped hints that his future with AEW may not be that certain.

The reason behind it can be the fact that he has now established his name as a big wrestler and sees it fit to join WWE after all the hard work.

The possibility of the 39-year-old joining WWE remains though it is unclear at the moment what lies ahead for ‘The Cleaner’.
