Cody Rhodes might be in WWE but he still has long-time connections with The Elite. The group Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, and Adam Hangman Page are great friends of Rhodes and he isn’t leaving them even if he has left AEW. Every now and then, people talk about The Elite coming to WWE or Rhodes going back to AEW, but there is no news about it.

Despite that, there is nothing stopping the wrestlers from making references to each other. AEW TV has more than once referenced Rhodes leaving and joining WWE, but this time it is Omega who might have got people thinking about their reunion.

Kenny Omega posts a collaboration with Cody, but it isn’t Cody Rhodes

On Twitter, Omega quote replied to a tweet promoting his new merchandise at the AEW shop. In his tweet, he wrote, “Kenny and Cody reunite!” While wrestling fans seeing this in one glance would directly think he’s talking about Cody Rhodes or one would think that he’s finally announced his switch to WWE, which isn’t that far from reality, or Rhodes coming back to AEW. But that isn’t the case at all.

The ‘Cody’ he’s referring to here is a Street Fighter character. Street Fighter is a fighting game produced by Capcom and Cody is a character who Omega has cosplayed in ads for the game before during his time in Japan. Omega is a big fan of video games as his wrestling moves are also a reference to a plethora of games.

But that doesn’t mean that Omega might not have done this intentionally. Their friendship is so close that this tweet might have also made Rhodes chuckle a little. And if the tweet didn’t make him chuckle, the fans’ reaction to it will surely do.

Despite his jump to WWE, being the main event at WrestleMania, and a marque match with Brock Lesnar, people still think that Rhodes could be switching back to AEW or The Cleaner may show up in WWE once his current AEW contract comes to an end. This recent Omega tweet has just fueled more rumors.
