Can Solo Sikoa step out of Roman Reigns' shadow and become a WWE superstar in his own right?

Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa are both seemingly headed into the future for a faceoff to assume control over The Bloodline. However, the changing power dynamic is confusing fans for now. Sikoa’s leadership in WWE has made fans chant for the original Tribal Chief to come back. Some viewers have even criticized the creative department for putting him in the role.

This is exactly what podcaster Jonathan Hood appreciates about the company. He believes that this was the primary motive and concept behind making Solo Sikoa the Head of the Table. Even if he’s not the righteous leader; he fits in with the story.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder, and it fits the context of Reigns’ absence just right. Fans used to ‘boo’ him for being a heel. However, now they want him back because they don’t like Solo Sikoa as the head of The Bloodline. Some believed that this may be bad booking and that WWE should have chosen someone else in Sikoa’s place. However, Jonathan Hood thinks that this is exactly what makes the former Enforcer the perfect fit.

While talking during a recent episode of the Busted Open Podcast, “I think if you feel like he doesn’t seem to fit the bill as a Tribal Chief, then he wins. Because of course, he’s the faux Tribal Chief.” He thinks that if the fans feel like they wish for somebody else to take his place, then that’s the whole point of the storyline. “We’re just waiting. We’re just looking at our wristwatch as a wrestling fanbase, just waiting for Roman to return whenever that happens.

According to the podcaster, the sole reason for putting Solo as a temporary leader is to portray him as the kind of leader who wants to see him fill the shoes of his predecessor when he is not worthy of the same. The former Undisputed Champion could return to the promotion soon to retake his mantle. However, a former WWE employee thinks it shouldn’t happen just now.

Should Roman Reigns’ return be delayed?

There have been many speculations about how the tribal feud will go down among the Anoa’i family members and the Tongans when Roman Reigns comes back to assume control of the faction. Some members of the internet wrestling community believed that the return could take place at SummerSlam this year. While he wouldn’t directly engage in a feud right away, the return can simply be in the form of a promo or a segment that marks his presence but doesn’t pitch him in a match or any physical altercation. However, while the WWE is putting the groundwork for ushering him in, Eric Bischoff thinks that they should wait for longer.

While talking about it on his podcast, Bischoff opined that a SummerSlam return for Reigns would be “too soon”. He thinks this way because he claims that too much is happening in the wrestling world. For a fan who follows every show and promotion, it may be difficult for them to get hyped about Roman Reigns’ return properly. Some of the fans may disagree with this thought because they really want to see the rightful heir to the Anoa’i throne return to the promotion and win his moniker back.
