WWE has had many shows over the years. Some popular, others, not so much. But the most recent announcement of a new scripted show for WWE, on Vince McMahon, might be the best one yet. The fans are already buzzing at the prospect.

WWE, on their corporate website, made a huge announcement about an upcoming series titled, ‘The United States of America vs. Vince McMahon’. WWE is partnering up with Blumhouse Television to develop a limited scripted series called, The United States of America Vs. Vince McMahon.

Blumhouse, owned by Jason Blum, will develop the series for television, led by Chris McCumber, the Blumhouse TV President.

The series is a first in WWE history as it will be the first-ever scripted dramatic portrayal of a chapter of WWE. It is also the first scripted portrayal of McMahon, not to mention many of the legendary Superstars of that era.

The show will burrow into WWE during the 1990s. At the time, Rupert Murdoch purchased the New York Post to further his massive penetration into the U.S. media scene.

For years, infamous Post writer Phil Mushnick regularly hit on WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon in his columns.

“Jason, Chris and their team at Blumhouse create amazing work and we look forward to delivering an inside look into one of the most pivotal moments in our company’s history,” said Kevin Dunn, WWE Executive Producer & Chief of Global Television Distribution.

“We have a dramatic, riveting saga – one that’s crazier than fiction – that will appeal to the cross-section of Blumhouse and WWE fans,” said Chris McCumber, Blumhouse Television President. “To say I’m thrilled about collaborating again with WWE is an understatement.”

What went down?

In 1994, the United States government indicted Vince McMahon on a steroid trial for allegedly supplying anabolic steroids to WWE wrestlers.

However, they found McMahon not guilty following his trial at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. The future of WWE hanged at balance with no one knowing what would happen.
