There are wrestlers who are arguably more popular than Lesnar. But his impact and domination across WWE and MMA are unparalleled.

Perhaps only one man matches up to The Beast Incarnate in terms of legitimacy, and that is Bobby Lashley. A former amateur wrestler and MMA fighter, Lashley has all the tools to be viewed in the same light as Lesnar.

Before their WWE match at Crown Jewel, Lesnar’s former manager Paul Heyman praised Lashley but said he has some way to go to reach Brock Lesnar’s level of stardom.

Heyman talks about what sets Brock Lesnar apart from Lashley

Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley was a dream match for pro wrestling fans for quite some time. The two behemoths finally met in a WWE Championship match at Royal Rumble this year, with Lashley picking up the win. However, the fans felt they didn’t get the best out of this contest.

The two WWE stars share a similar background, having found success as amateur wrestlers and later as pro wrestlers. Both have them have also had successful MMA careers. Yet, despite having a lengthy MMA career as compared to Lesnar, The Almighty hasn’t enjoyed that level of stardom. In the eyes of many fans, he is still a step or two below the former UFC Champion regarding popularity.

In an interview with Corey Graves on his After The Bell podcast, Paul Heyman shared his thoughts on why Brock Lesnar is currently a bigger star than Bobby Lashley. Heyman claimed it was due to Lesnar’s accomplishments away from WWE that set him apart from his opponent this Saturday.

Heyman said, “Bobby Lashley is not as publicized as Brock Lesnar. Bobby Lashley wasn’t an NCAA Division I Heavyweight Champion or the UFC Heavyweight Champion. And along with that comes a lot of publicity for Brock Lesnar.” Despite this, Heyman praised Lashley and said he is almost on Lesnar’s level and should be viewed as an equal to him if he defeats his former client for a second time in a row.

It is clear that Lesnar’s accomplishments, such as winning the NCAA Championship and the UFC Heavyweight title, set him apart from Lashley. Still, The Dominator cannot be considered that far behind, given his MMA record of 15 wins and only two losses.

However, the two fearsome athletes locked horns once again at Crown Jewel PLE in Saudi Arabia. Over the past few weeks, we have seen Lesnar and Lashley going at it. They have taken turns in destroying each other in recent weeks on RAW. This had the fans genuinely excited about their match, in which The Beast had the final laugh as well.
