Renee quit WWE in 2020, which sparked rumours that she would be joining her husband Jon Moxley in AEW. However, she has decided to go another way and start the ‘Oral Sessions’ podcast.
Renee Paquette’s WWE career
Renee worked at WWE under the name Renee Young for eight years. She made her first appearance for the company in 2012 at the Survivor Series pre-show alongside Scott Stanford. She then transitioned to the role of a backstage interviewer in 2013.
Renee Young became WWE’s first full-time female announcer in over a decade when she became a commentator on WWE Superstars and WWE NXT. She even served as the co-host for WWE Tough Enough alongside former AEW Champion Chris Jericho.
Renee got involved in a main roster storyline for the first time in 2017. While interviewing former Intercontinental Champion Miz, he questioned Renee’s real-life relationship with Dean Ambrose, Renee’s husband. This prompted her to slap the Miz across the face which became an integral part of the Miz vs Dean Ambrose rivalry.

She received her biggest opportunity in WWE as a full-time commentator on Raw, becoming the first woman to call an entire episode of Raw. She then got the opportunity to host Fox Sports’ WWE Backstage with Booker T.
Unfortunately, the show was pulled from the air due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This led to her eventual departure from the company. She felt she had accomplished everything there is to accomplish in WWE, which was the reason she cited for leaving.
