The month of June is officially Pride Month. This month doesn’t just celebrate the progress and achievements of people in the community, but also is one of the times when most people come out. One such person who’s come out during Pride Month this year is NXT Superstar, Toni Storm.

Toni Storm comes out as bisexual on WWE NXT Instagram

WWE NXT Superstar Toni Storm took over NXT’s Instagram stories to celebrate Pride Month. Storm kicked off the story series talking about pride month means to her. She also took the opportunity to share some positive words of encouragement to members of the community.

She said, “Pride month is very important to me. It’s just important to be able to be exactly who you are unapologetically. It’s important to love exactly who you want to love and to be your true authentic self and not have to feel ashamed of that. There should be no negativity surrounding your sexuality.”

The former NXT UK Women’s Champion also addressed a few doubts that fans had. Storm said she noticed people were asking if she’s an ally or if she’s in the community when WWE announced she would takeover NXT’s Instagram for Pride Month. This is when she revealed that she’s bisexual.

Toni said, “Well, I guess now is a good time to say I’m both. I’m an ally and I can’t exactly say that I’m straight. I’m bi and it feels good to say. It’s something I’ve been really comfortable with for a long time. I just never really expressed it, I don’t know. I just never really found the right time.”


WWE offers an all-inclusive atmosphere and it has been the case since a very long time. In fact, WWE Hall of Famer Pat Patterson was the first gay champion in WWE history. Although he came out publicly a long time after retirement in 2014. Today the WWE roster has seven wrestlers, excluding Storm who identify themselves as a member of the LGBT community.

WWE Superstars who currently identify themselves as part of the LGBT community are Shayna Baszler, Sonya Deville, Mercedes Martinez, Jake Atlas, Piper Niven, Tegan Nox, and Kayla Braxton. All in all, it’s wonderful to see more and more people come out and accept their sexuality.

After all, it’s not about the stereotypes we’ve created. It’s about the love that’ll keep us all together despite our individual uniqueness.
