The only way to decide who goes up to the top among a group of Superstars under the same brand is via qualifying matches. At least, that’s what Ricochet thought.
Unfortunately for the WWE Superstar, that’s not how Vince McMahon or WWE thinks. As per them, choosing who gets to go to the top depends all on who WWE thinks should be at the top. This is what happened with the Survivor Series team for both brands.
The company announced the teams from Raw and SmackDown that would participate in Survivor Series. Superstar Ricochet called out the company on social media, and wondered why there weren’t any qualifying matches for the same.

While the company or even Vince McMahon won’t actually answer it, there’s probably a good enough reason why there weren’t any qualifying matches. Almost all the Superstars who are in the teams have made regular television appearances.
What happened to qualifying matches 🤔

While this shouldn’t be the only factor for WWE picking the teams, there’s not much anyone can do once the teams are announced.
Ricochet lost to Drew McIntyre on SmackDown
On WWE SmackDown: November 5th, 2021, he answered McIntyre’s open challenge. Now, The Scottish Warrior has been on a roll, and he has defeated everyone who answered his open challenge.
Even Ricochet met the same fate. However, the former United States Champion had a message for The Scottish Warrior.
“The message that I sent tonight, and I told Drew the same thing, is that he keeps coming out here and giving these open challenges, one day somebody is going to come out there and smack him right in his mouth. And I guess that’s the same thing I would say to everybody else. Just get ready for that.”
Coming to the match itself, it was a spectacular match. In fact, it gives the answer why Drew McIntyre is on the SmackDown team. Apart from McIntyre, the others on the SmackDown team are Jeff Hardy, King Woods, Sami Zayn, Baron Corbin with his sidekick, Mad Cap.
