2020 was surely a crazy year. From wrestling companies, to fans, and even wrestlers – everyone felt the pinch of the pandemic. And then there was former NXT Superstar Jaxson Ryker, who felt the pinch of one tweet he put out.
Jaxson Ryker returns to WWE?
Jaxson Ryker debuted on Friday Night SmackDown as part of The Forgotten Sons alongside Wesley Blake and Steve Cutler earlier this year. The trio was being built as a top tag team to go against The New Day until one tweet from Ryker derailed it all for him and his partners.

Ryker made a controversial political tweet that drew a lot of backlash and choice words from all over the internet. Even fellow wrestlers didn’t hold back on expressing their thoughts on the tweet by Ryker.
WWE immediately removed The Forgotten Sons from TV. Ryker’s stable mates, Blake and Cutler, immediately distanced themselves from Ryker and his controversial tweet. Many believed this was enough for WWE to release Jaxson Ryker.
Dave Meltzer had noted that WWE would release him. However, that didn’t happen and in a matter of a weekend, all three members returned to WWE TV.
Wesley Blake and Steve Cutler returned to WWE SmackDown as part of King Corbin’s entourage, and it seems WWE will associate them with him. Just three days after Blake and Cutler’s return, Jaxson Ryker made his return to WWE when he appeared on this week’s episode of Main Event as Elias’ enforcer.
More on Ryker’s return
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select revealed that Ryker’s status in the company was constantly changing. The alliance with Elias is part of a dry run to pitch Ryker and Elias to Vince McMahon.

Another reason he appeared on Main Event was for WWE to gauge the reception of the WWE Universe. Seeing Jaxson Ryker back has already upset a ton of fans, so it will be interesting to see if they continue the pairing on their flagship show Monday Night Raw or they send him back home.
