Many pro wrestlers tried their luck at acting in Hollywood to varying degrees of success. But Dwayne Johnson is one standout star who completely changed the game for a pro wrestler in Hollywood. WWE stars like John Cena and Batista followed in his footsteps and joined big-name franchises and have successful acting careers. One more current WWE star Bobby Lashley gave acting a shot and could’ve been part of some popular franchises but decided to turn down the opportunity.
Although he has acted in a few movies, WWE star Bobby Lashley recently revealed that he declined offers to be part of projects like The “Stranger Things” and the “Mortal Kombat”. He said these offers came to him after he had left WWE in 2008.

Bobby Lashley reveals the reason for turning down the big name franchises
Pro wrestlers trying their hands at acting is not a surprise and is nothing new. For many, this is the ideal destination after years of performing in front of a live audience and camera.
The entire world has seen how easily they are able to transition onto the big screen. The Rock, Cena, and Batista are shining examples of pro wrestlers forging successful acting careers. And Bobby Lashley could have also added his name to the same list had he not decided against it. After his release in 2008, Lashley began a career in MMA and enjoyed quite a successful run. Over the next 2-3 years, he also made a handful of appearances in a few movies playing the big bad.
In a recent interview with Sidewalk Entertainment, the former WWE Champion revealed that afterward he had offers for some big projects during this time but said his focus wasn’t acting at the time.
Lashley said, “I was offered things afterward. I was offered Mortal Kombat. There was Stranger Things. There were a lot of different ones that I was offered. At the time, I wasn’t really focused on doing that. I was fighting at the time. I was trying to get back in professional wrestling. The acting part was something that I was interested in, but I don’t think it was the right timing.”
Lashley is open to acting, now!
The Dominator stated he is more open to taking up roles right now. He stated, “When I came back to WWE, I started doing more acting classes, working on that, and now I’m more open to doing it.” He also talked about working on a few projects currently and expressed a desire to move into acting once his pro wrestling days wind down.

As of now, Lashley is still going strong in WWE and shows no signs of slowing down. Despite losing to Brock Lesnar at Crown Jewel earlier this month, he manhandled The Beast as few others have in WWE. He looked dominant and strong throughout the feud. Lashley will now look to capture the United States Championship at Survivor Series in a Triple Threat Match, which includes Austin Theory and the current U. S Champion Seth Rollins.
