WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks Demands the Main Event Spot at WrestleMania 37

WWE continued their streak of poorly booking main event worthy matches. In 2021, WWE landed a goldmine of a match in Bianca Belair vs Sasha Banks, but butchered the storyline completely. Now, Sasha Banks has demanded the WrestleMania main event, and her most ardent fans are backing her claim.

Sasha Banks wants the main event of WrestleMania

Like every WWE superstar, Sasha Banks dreams of headlining WrestleMania. It is the highest honour given to a wrestler, and Banks deserves it. However, she’s won six Women’s Titles but headlined zero WrestleMania’s.

Banks holds a special place in WWE history, being the first woman to headline a PPV. At Hell in a Cell 2016, Banks and Charlotte Flair clashed in the main event match, which was also the first women’s Hell in a Cell match. Banks even competed in the first women’s Royal Rumble and the first women’s Iron Woman match.

Despite creating so much history, Banks missed out on becoming the first women to headline WrestleMania. That honor goes to Becky Lynch, Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair. To right that wrong, Banks has demanded the main event spot of WrestleMania for her match against Bianca Belair.

Despite getting backlash for the way the story has progressed, some fans really want to see Belair and Banks square off in the main event of Night 1. Their only competition is the WWE Championship match between Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley. Unless WWE book Banks vs Belair like a genuine main event, that spot will go to Lashley and McIntyre.

Fans criticise storyline; still want WrestleMania main event

The WWE Universe is split on whether they want to see Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair meet in the main event of WrestleMania. The storyline has received a ton of criticism from members of the WWE Universe, but WWE hasn’t attempted to make Banks and Belair look like legit rivals.

So far, the Boss of WWE looks more like a foolish janitor. Both Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler have pinned Banks, and she’s only won two out of her five matches since her feud with Belair began. As for Belair, the EST of WWE is currently the stupidEST in WWE, constantly taking crap from Banks without retaliation.

With their second PPV loss to Jax and Baszler, both women look incredibly weak heading into WrestleMania. Only a miracle can grant them the main event spot at this point.
