The WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns was in a vile mood on WWE SmackDown. His opening segment with Edge did not go according to plan, with the Royal Rumble winner undermining his WWE career. However, he took his revenge after the main event.
Chaos erupts after WWE SmackDown main event

WWE SmackDown featured an exciting six man tag team match comprising the six participants of the Elimination Chamber match. Jey Uso, Baron Corbin and Sami Zayn took on Kevin Owens, Daniel Bryan and Cesaro.
Cesaro put on an excellent performance, one that gives him a ton of momentum before the Chamber match. Daniel Bryan picked up the win for his team, smashing Sami Zayn with an underhook superplex before making him submit to the Yes Lock.
The babyfaces head into the Elimination Chamber with more momentum than the heels. However, the chaos of the evening did not end after Zayn tapped out. Every member of the Chamber match attacked another member, and each member hit their signature moves on another opponent.
Daniel Bryan got the win but was taken out with the End of Days by Baron Corbin. Corbin ran into a Stunner from Kevin Owens, but he got his vertebrae readjusted by a half-in-half suplex by Sami Zayn.
Cesaro launched Zayn into the air before delivering a jaw-breaking uppercut but ran into a super-kick from Jey Uso.
Edge ran into the ring and took down Uso with a Spear. Unfortunately, he turned around and got absolutely flattened by a massive Spear from Roman Reigns.
Build towards Roman Reigns vs Edge continues

After the events of SmackDown, it is quite clear that Edge will pick Roman Reigns as his WrestleMania opponent. The massive Spear at the end of the show is an effective message to the Rated-R Superstar, putting an end to his mind games.
Edge has gotten into the Tribal Chief’s head, clouding the champion’s judgment. He tried to force Edge into choosing him as his WrestleMania opponent, but the Ultimate Opportunist chose to mess with the Tribal Chief.

Will we see a similar scene at WrestleMania 37? The Spear from Edge is sure to make the Rumble winner rethink his choice of opponent. But for now, Reigns vs Edge seems to be the guaranteed WrestleMania main event.
