WWE issued a statement a couple of days back that received a significant amount of backlash from both Superstars and the audience.
According to the statement, Vince McMahon was banning all Superstars from engaging in third-party deals. This basically means that the Superstars cannot be having an income stream that is not from the company.
At that point, exactly what fell under the “third party deals” threshold wasn’t confirmed. However, most assumed that Twitch and Cameo were definitely a part of it.

Following the backlash, WWE issued yet another statement explaining why they were putting this ban.
As per that, the company needs to protect the investments it’s making. Therefore, one of the primary investments the company is making is in the ring names of the Superstars. For example, The Fiend, Roman Reigns, Big E, etc.
So, much like other companies such as Warner Bros. and Disney, the company is making sure that the intellectual properties they create are well-protected. This is primarily because the revenue that the company earns is based on the creation and manipulation of such in-ring characters.
WWE provides further clarification about recent social media ban
Finally, WWE provided clarity on its policy. Now, Superstars can maintain accounts on platforms such as Twitch, Cameo, and YouTube. The condition is that they will need to do so using their real names.
Furthermore, the Superstars will have to make the company aware of the accounts they are creating and maintaining using their real names.

In a recent blame-game about the policy, Dave Meltzer indirectly pinned it on Lana. This came after she promoted Bang Energy Drinks on her Instagram account.
