Ricochet entered WWE with a ton of hype. Hardcore wrestling fans studied his work in NJPW and PWG. He became one of the most popular wrestlers in the world because of his amazing athleticism, and the sheer smoothness with which he performs stunts and high-flying maneuvers.
In NXT, Ricochet climbed the ladder of success in an instant. He debuted in the North American Championship ladder match, and registered a star-making performance there. He eventually won the title from the inaugural champion, Adam Cole, and would hold it for six months. Ricochet even won the 2018 War Games match, and put on an NXT classic against Johnny Gargano at Takeover: Phoenix.
Ricochet’s main roster run has not reflected his amazing NXT run in any way, shape, or form. He won the United States Championship in a barnburner against Samoa Joe, but lost it to AJ Styles soon. The superstar has had many high profile matches against the likes of Brock Lesnar, Drew McIntyre, AJ Styles, and many more. He even had an impressive run in the 2019 King of the Ring tournament.
According to Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer Live, the former US Champion has not signed a new contract with WWE. He turned down an offer in September. These signs point towards a potential exit from the WWE.
