RETRIBUTION suffered from a huge setback after it was revealed that Mercedes Martinez was no longer a part of the group. The interesting part is that she wanted to be removed from the group herself.

Before Mustafa Ali debuted as the leader, the core members were T-Bar (Dominik Dijakovic), Slapjack (Shane Thorne), Mace (Dio Madden), Reckoning (Mia Yim), and Retaliation (Mercedes Martinez). However, it is important to note that Martinez never officially had a match as a faction member.

According to Fightful Select and PWInsider, Martinez moved back to WWE’s developmental NXT roster. Martinez made her intention to leave the stable clear as she refused to sign contracts with the rest of the faction members.

After her departure, several NXT talents were considered to replace her within the faction. The creative team decided that the faction would be kept in their current form. As of now,  Mia Yim (Reckoning) is the only female member of the stable.

Before coming to WWE, Martinez was a major part of the independent wrestling scene. In fact, she competed across the country from 2006 to 2020 and held several indie titles across numerous promotions.

Hopefully, even after she departs from the group, we will see more of Mercedes Martinez in the upcoming days.
